DigimonLinks Strategy Guide: Tips And Tricks

If you’re like us here at My Dpad, you haven’t been able to put down DigimonLinks since it first came out. It exceeded all expectations on launch, as it was clear that Bandai Namco had created a real Digimon game for your smartphone, rather than a typical, watered-down mobile experience. Here we are now, a few days post-launch, and the game still hasn’t been disappointing in any way, considering it’s a free mobile game. If you’re looking for that extra leg up, though, you’ve come to the right place. This is the DigimonLinks strategy guide, complete with all sorts of hints, tips, and tricks. If you follow these steps, you’ll have a perfect DigiFarm in no time.

Recruit Digimon With Link Capture

While you can play this for longer gaming sessions, you’ll most likely be playing it a little bit at a time, since it’s a mobile game. You should take advantage of this by capturing Digimon with link points and growing them from their In-Training stages, rather than paying digistones to capture Rookie Digimon. Yes, it takes 24 hours for an In-Training II Digimon to be ready to digivolve into a rookie, and 36 hours for an In-Training I Digimon, but again, you can probably spare this wait if you already have three Digimon in a party (which you will after the tutorial).

Even if you get impatient and use digistones with less than 20 hours left, you’re still getting Rookies for less than the 20 digistone capture cost. You also can’t use link points for anything but link captures, while digistones can be used for many purposes, so it makes more sense to capture Digimon with link points. During this launch promotion, though, feel free to stock up on a few Megafest captures to pad your lineup.

Harvest Meat And Feed Your Digimon Regularly

In the spirit of training up your Digimon from scratch, you should make regular use of meat, instead of just relying on gaining experience from battles and enhancements. In fact, you should mostly base how you play the game around harvesting meat from the meat field. This is because you get one piece of meat a minute, and can only hold a certain amount of meat in your field at any time (it might be 30 pieces at a certain level), so if you harvest your meat often you can stockpile enough to really level up some Digimon. In other words, even if you don’t have time for a battle, just log in quickly to harvest meat so you can have a great stockpile once you are ready to play.

Upgrade Your Meat Field And Warehouse

On that same note, you should make sure to upgrade your meat field so it can hold more meat at a time. You should also build and upgrade a warehouse, so that you can hold more harvested meat at one time. If you focus on upgrading these two buildings and harvesting meat as often as you can, you can level up Digimon almost as quickly as they leave your garden and enter your house. You can also stockpile more meat without having to log into the game as often, so you can digivolve more easily.

Do The Daily Quests To Digivolve

Speaking of digivolving, since you need digivolve fuel, you should make sure to do the daily quests whenever you can. The easy daily quests can be completed with rookie Digimon, and the medium and hard quests can be completed with high level champions, and it helps if you have an ultimate. Even if you can only do the easy quest, though, you should still do it every day, because this is the best way to get digivolve fuel. Since the type of fuel you get rotates on a daily basis, you should just do it every day, and it should be the first thing you day every day. This is because the daily quests take more stamina than the normal missions do (at least at first), so you want to save your stamina for the daily quests.

Upgrade Your House

Now that you know how to train up and digivolve Digimon cheaply and efficiently, you should upgrade your house. The level of your house determines how many Digimon you can have, and if you play a lot you’ll eventually have a bunch of link captures and you can do, and will have enough digistones to use a few on a rare capture here and there. The best way to manage this is to upgrade your house, so you can have plenty of Digimon to use for enhancements but enough space to have as many Digimon as you want.

Upgrade Your Restaurant

Finally, the last thing you need to do on your farm is build and upgrade a restaurant. The restaurant level determines how much stamina you have, which determines how many battles you can do during any given gaming session. Upgrade it a few times in a row (you’ll probably be able to afford it by the time you get the restaurant key) and then play to your hearts content, unrestricted by low stamina.

Join A Chat

Once you’ve maximized the efficiency of your farm and your playstyle, you should join a (text) chat! DigimonLinks doesn’t have guilds, but it does have two separate systems for socializing and battling together. If you join a chat (like the only one around as of this writing, “Chill”, which I created), you can talk to fellow Digimon lovers and ask for co-op help in battles. This is of course optional, as you can do co-op battles without having to join a chat.

With that knowledge in hand, you should be able to design a farm that is easily producing awesome Digimon everytime you log in. This is a gacha game at heart, but it’s well-designed enough that you can enjoy grinding for good Digimon. After all, there’s plenty of grinding in real Digimon games. Anyways, have fun, and see you on the chat if you join it!
