Reviews?

If you’ve seen my game write-ups, you might be wondering a few things. One thing you might be wondering is if I ever do reviews, where I rate a game on some sort of scale and either recommend it or not. The answer is no, I do not. Instead, I just do write-ups of games (which you can see in Mobile Gaming and PC Gaming) that I think are interesting and that I think other people might like. Individual tastes can vary so much, especially when it comes to games, that numerical ratings can only be so helpful. That’s why I just try to write everything I like about a game, so that anyone who would also like that game can recognize that they’d like it, while anyone who would not like the game knows to stay away.

Another thing you might be wondering, then, is if I ever do negative write-ups of games. The answer is no. I think there’s enough places (like OpenCritic) to see whether a game is so buggy or poorly conceived that it’s not worth your time, so I don’t ever feel the need to write about a game like that. Instead, I hope the fact that I chose to write about a game shows that I myself enjoyed it, and then you can read the actual write-up to determine whether or not you will also enjoy that game. I know some people think that having negative reviews can show some level of integrity, but I hope the fact that I only write about games that I personally feel like recommending shines through in my write-ups.
