Westworld

Looking Forward To The Westworld Mobile Game

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a Westworld mobile game coming out soon. It’s in closed beta right now, but you can pre-register on Google Play in the meantime. It seems like it’s pretty fleshed out at this point, but all we really have to go on is the screenshots the developers have put up on Google Play. In other words, it’s time for wild speculation.

Build Control Westworld

Fallout Shelter Plus Base Building?

So, from this first screenshot, it looks like the main screen of the game is made up of a Fallout Shelter-type underground lab, and a Clash of Clans/The Simpsons: Tapped Out/a million other games-type base building overworld. While neither of these things are original, the combination of the two could just end up being pretty interesting. If nothing else, the Fallout Shelter-type underground lab indicates that the Westworld mobile game will consist of less waiting for things to build than say, Clash of Clans or The Simpsons: Tapped Out does.

Host Control

The real question mark for the Westworld mobile game is what the deal is gonna be with the hosts.

Westworld Mobile Game Hosts

If the underground lab is inspired by Fallout Shelter and the overworld is inspired by base-building games like Clash of Clans and The Simpsons: Tapped Out, it looks like there’s still a third element, similar to the exploration and battling present in Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow (and plenty of other base-building games). This element revolves around the hosts. In fact, based on the screenshots, it seems that dealing with the hosts is gonna be the focal point of this game. There might be a gacha element in collecting the hosts, and their might be story quests revolving around keeping the guests happy. After all, this is what the real (well, the still-fictional) Westworld amusement park consists of in the show (as well as the old movie that no one cares about).

We’ll See Soon Enough

At the end of the day, Westworld could be just another free-to-play mobile game that is meticulously designed to drain money from its users. On the other hand, it might not be. Here at My Dpad we’ll be keeping an eye on any new developments, and once the game finally does drop we’ll be there to test it out and report back. Keep checking back here at My Dpad and you’ll be able to see what we think of the game once we can actually, you know, play it. By the way, since only Google Play offers pre-registration, you can only preview the game on Google Play right now. It will end up releasing on the App Store, too, though, so iOS users don’t need to worry.
