Plato: The Ultimate Social Mobile Game To Play With Friends

If you’re like me, there’s nothing better than a game you can play with your friends or your significant other. In fact, most of my time spent browsing Steam, the Google Play store, or other video game storefronts is spent looking for that perfect game to play with my girlfriend and my friends who all live in different states. Well, with Plato, I think I’ve finally found just the one.

Much More Than A Chat App

At first glance, Plato seems to be nothing more than a chat app, and who’s really looking for another one of those? Just a bit of digging though uncovers the truth: Plato is the mobile social gaming platform of your dreams. In fact, think of it along the lines of Discord (except, you know, text instead of voice) with a bunch of games built right in. In Plato, you can invite all your friends into a group chat, and from that group chat you can play games to your heart’s content.

Which Games Are On Plato?

As of this writing, Plato has the following games available completely free without a single in-app purchase (in alphabetical order):

  • 4 in a Row (Connect 4)
  • Backgammon
  • Checkers
  • Chess
  • Dice Party (Yahtzee)
  • Dominoes
  • Dots & Boxes
  • Draw Together (Pictionary)
  • Euchre
  • Gin Rummy
  • Go
  • Hearts
  • Hold’em
  • Literati (Scrabble)
  • Ludo (Pachisi)
  • Ocho (Uno)
  • Pool (8 Ball and 9 Ball)
  • Reversi
  • Rock Card (Cards Against Humanity/Apples to Apples)
  • Sea Battle (Battleship)
  • Spades
  • Werewolf (Mafia)

Not bad, right? Plato’s devs also show no signs of slowing down, so this list will only grow. The best thing of all, though, is that part of the development mission of Plato is a place for people to play classic games with their friends without having to deal with an overload of ads, or worse, an app designed to milk the microtransactions out of you. In other words, this is social gaming on-the-go in its purest form.

The Best Android/iOS Cross-Platform App To Play With Your Girlfriend (Or Boyfriend, Or Regular Friends)

At the end of the day, if you just want to play some good games with your friends and care more about the social experience than the game itself, go download Plato right now. The games are all incredibly polished and work perfectly in one-handed form. A word of warning, though: only play Ludo if you’re willing to drop your friendships with everyone you’re playing with. Just kidding, not really.

  1. I’ve downloaded Plato app, signed in and set up And shared password for room with friends, how do I choose game? We meet on Zoom to do academics. Then I’d like for us to play a game. There must be a step I’m missing. Thanks.
