Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit for the Xbox Adaptive Controller Featured

The Xbox Adaptive Controller Gets Better With Logitech

We recently wrote a post talking about Xbox’s commitment to diversity and accessibility. In that post, among other things, we discussed the Xbox Adaptive Controller, which is a premium accessory that aims to help standardize how people play games with non-traditional controls. As written about by Polygon, Logitech has released the Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit for the Xbox Adaptive Controller. With the addition of this kit, gamers of all stripes can now buy a customizable, fully-featured control scheme for $200. While it’s a shame that this is still three times the cost of a traditional gamepad, it’s substantially less than the hundreds to thousands of dollars that many gamers have previously had to pay for for their setups.

Xbox Adaptive Controller

You see, the Xbox Adaptive Controller includes inputs for the d-pad, A and B, the view and menu buttons, and the Xbox button. In other words, enough to navigate around the UI, and maybe even enough to play certain games, but not enough to play everything you could play with a traditional gamepad. In addition, the buttons included might not be suitable for all users.

For that reason, the Xbox Adaptive Controller includes a port for each button on a traditional gamepad. This allows people to hook up specific accessories to perform the functions of individual buttons. For example, someone might have it so that Right Trigger is connected to a pedal, or a blowtube, or an oversized button.

This Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit comes with a bunch of different accessories that can turn the Xbox Adaptive Controller into a fully-featured controller with every button accounted for. It also comes with two game board that people can lay these accessories on and secure them to. Finally, the kit comes with stickers that can be used to identify the different buttons, so people can connect whichever accessory to whichever button they want.

The full kit consists of the following accessories:

  • 3 small buttons
  • 3 large buttons
  • 2 variable triggers
  • 4 light touch buttons
  • Rigid hook and loop game board
  • Flexible hook and loop game board
  • 2 label sheets
  • Hook and loop attachment stickers
  • Hook and loop ties

The Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit was made in an attempt to standardize the large kit of gaming accessories that some gamers have to carry around if they want to play outside of their homes. For many of these gamers, this kit combined with the Xbox Adaptive Controller will be absolutely everything they need to play in a way that works for them. Gaming is for everyone, and when everyone can play the games they want in the ways they want, we all win. That’s not just a cliche, but a standard we should all strive for.
