If you have a smartphone within reach, you can start playing The Sims right now.
No, I’m not talking about The Sims Freeplay, the terrible first mobile offering from The Sims franchise. I’m talking about The Sims Mobile. The Sims Mobile is a completely new game that has just recently dropped on both Google Play and the App Store.
The Sims Mobile
The Sims Mobile is a pretty faithful Sims experience right on your smartphone. Now, obviously, it has the usual pitfalls of mobile games, including waiting times and segmented play sessions. Within that annoying framework, though, is actually a pretty solid life simulation game. Just like SimCity BuildIt is a decent but not perfect mobile port of the SimCity experience, The Sims Mobile is a decent but not perfect mobile port of The Sims experience.
All the usual Sims stuff is here, from building and managing your home (down to making sure your Sim goes to the bathroom enough), to working and forming relationships. The relationships, in fact, are what I think the main appeal will be of this game for a lot of people. Read on to see why The Sims Mobile is just the game for you if you’re looking for some company.
A Great Game To Play When You’re Lonely
Now, that might sound like a dig or something, but I’m serious. Just like Persona 4 and other RPGs before it, The Sims Mobile is just the type of game to make you feel a little less lonely. If you’re strung up in a hospital bed or something, why not escape into a new career as a barista, or even better, fall in love? Falling in love/dating around seems to be the main point of this game, actually, so you should keep that in mind when deciding if it’s the game for you.
Sure you’re gonna spend a lot of time waiting around, but that’s just like falling in love in real life. Every minute between texts feels like an hour, and every hour together feels like it went by in no time at all. In that sense, The Sims Mobile has nailed a simulation of the process of falling in love: you always wish you could spend more time together, and had to spend less time apart. Anyways, if you’re feeling lonely and are looking for some digital company, give The Sims Mobile a try.
